Nomination and Election Cycles for the Speech-Language
Pathology Advisory Council
Below are the nomination and election cycles for the Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council. Nominations and elections occur on a rotating basis in accordance with ASHA's bylaws whereby no member may serve more than 2 consecutive terms (6 years).

2018 Nomination Period/2019 Election
Nominations for the following states will open in 2018 and the election will be conducted in 2019. The term for which candidates will be running is 3 years (January 1, 2020-December 31, 2022).
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New Mexico
- New York
- North Carolina
2019 Nomination Period/2020 Election
Nominations for the following states will open in 2019 and the election will be conducted in 2020. The term for which candidates will be running is 3 years (January 1, 2021-December 31, 2023).
- North Dakota
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- South Dakota
- West Virginia
- U.S. Territories
2020 Nomination Period/2021 Election
Nominations for these states will open in 2020 and the election will be conducted in 2021. The term for which candidates will be running is 3 years (January 1, 2022-December 31, 2024).
