ASHA Web Site Search Tips
How to Refine Results
Refinements are categories which allow the ASHA search engine to display results corresponding to certain criteria (e.g. source and year). To apply a refinement, select any displayed grouping under the headings Source, ASHA Practice Policy, Year, Type, or Topic. Note: The number in parenthesis to the left of the grouping shows how many results fall under it.
For example, to display ASHA journal articles published in 2009 about swallowing, enter swallowing in the search box, select ASHA Journals in Source and 2009 in Year. You can also exclude a category by selecting the X next to the category.
Once you have refined your search, you can remove the refinement by selecting Clear next to the category.
Highlighting Search Terms in Results
Search results from selected sources allow you to view your search terms highlighted in the document; select Cached or Quick View below the description in the search result.
