Health Care Reform
A Guide for Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists
In broad terms, health care reform is any attempt to significantly create or change traditional health care policy or delivery models. Health care reform typically tries to increase access to health care, lower health care costs, and improve quality of care. It is important for audiologists and speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to educate themselves about major reform in order to effectively adapt to the quickly changing landscape of health care.
At the forefront of health care reform in the United States is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA). This site addresses the ACA and other health care reform issues as they relate to audiologists, SLPs, and the patients they serve. Visit this site often for updates.
