Speech-language pathologists should make services in the classroom available to all school-age students. Services in the classroom comply with federal mandates to consider the least restrictive environment when making placement decisions, establish the context for achieving educationally relevant outcomes for students, and demonstrate that the speech-language pathologist is an important member of the educational team. This audio self-study gives speech-language pathologists specific suggestions to manage classroom services. Classroom activities that maintain a therapeutic focus at every stage of therapy are discussed, as well as specific school-wide activities that increase support of these services. (For clients aged 3-21.)
