With the appropriate use of today’s information and telecommunication technologies, you can easily work with clients who live too far away to make frequent appointments, or in areas that lack trained clinicians. By remotely working with these underserved populations, you can provide greater follow-up after discharge while preventing secondary complications, resulting in improved quality of life for your clients.
Learning Outcomes You will be able to:
- provide a basic overview of telepractice communication technologies
- discuss the key challenges of delivering services and how telepractice can address these issues
- describe current telepractice applications
- outline current barriers to telepractice and possible solutions for overcoming them
Group Registration Note: A group registration entitles you to one Web to this program. Any number of people may listen and earn ASHA CEUs on that connection. The person who will act as site leader for the broadcast should register on behalf of the group. After registering, the site leader will be able to download seminar instructions, handouts, and CEU materials. The site leader needs to have, or create, a login to the ASHA Web site.
