Increasing Efficiency in SLP Practice: Maximize Productivity, Minimize Pain

Productivity is a measure of the efficiency with which a clinician, program, department, or organization delivers products or services. Achieving high productivity levels without sacrificing quality or employee satisfaction is an ongoing challenge for all organizations. This presentation discusses some tips and strategies for maximizing productivity in a speech pathology program, while maintaining high quality and actually enhancing staff morale.

Learning Outcomes
You will be able to:

  • list responsibilities that interfere with a clinician’s ability to see patients
  • discuss ways to remove those tasks from the clinician’s schedule
  • discuss the advantages and disadvantages of rewarding high productivity

This program is intended for speech-language pathologists in health care settings, or speech-language pathologists in private practice whose time is billed to clients or third-party payers.
