Hearing loss presents many difficulties for older adults, and patients often have questions about the relationship between hearing loss and cognition, dementia and healthy aging. This session will review current and planned research on the association of hearing loss and healthy aging.
You will be able to:
- describe the current evidence for the association of hearing loss with healthy aging
- understand the challenges faced as we begin approaching hearing loss as a public health problem
- explain to patients the relationship between hearing loss, dementia, cognition, and healthy aging
