Clinical contact with clients starts in the freshman year for undergraduate students. We manage our own preschool environment within the department where graduate and undergraduate students can gain experience working with both typically- and atypically-developing 3 to 5 year olds. We manage our own Speech and Hearing Clinic where graduate and undergraduates get experience working with (and/or observing) a diverse group of patients and clients from the community who receive speech/language therapeutic and diagnostic services here.

We have established externships with 125+ excellent public and private schools, acute and rehab hospitals, longterm care facilities, and private clinics throughout western PA. We manage our own Learning and Language Center within the department where graduate and undergraduate students can gain experience working with both typically- and atypically-developing 3 to 5 year olds. We also manage our own Speech and Hearing Clinic where graduate and undergraduate students obtain experience working with (and/or observing) a diverse group of clients from the community who receive speech/language/audiological therapeutic and diagnostic services.
