To combat the critical shortage of SLPs in the Oklahoma public schools, Northeastern State University currently has a grant from the Oklahoma State Department of Education that will provide some financial benefits to graduate students who attend class on the Broken Arrow campus. In return, SLPs are encourage to provide speech and language services in Oklahoma public schools for two years after they graduate.
