Specialty Tracks / Unique Features:
Michigan State University has relationships with a number of off campus schools, clinics, hospitals, and other providers in the state of Michigan and nationally. Our program is modeled with a community based approach to clinical practicum experiences. As there is not an on-campus clinic, students receive all of their practicum hours with off-site community based partners. Students are required to have a minimum of 12 credits of clinical experience (equating to 4 semesters of clinical practicum) and can elect a fifth clinical practicum as a part of their electives. Additionally, MSU offers students in the Masters program in CSD a total of 15 credits of electives which can be taken within the department or with another unit within MSU including education, psychology, early childhood development, and cognitive sciences. While MSU does not offer a specialty track, students can design elective coursework to support their interests.
