This program presents the results of research investigating the expository language skills of young school-age children (aged 6–7), and examining age-related differences between young and older school-aged children, with the ultimate aim of obtaining normative data for clinical practice.
Learning Outcomes You will be able to:
- discuss the effectiveness of an expository discourse task in eliciting text-level discourse from young school-age children
- discuss age-related differences in measures of verbal productivity, mazing behavior, grammatical accuracy, and syntactic complexity
