This guide focuses on the challenges of ethical issues confronting SLPs and audiologists as they implement the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) in their school districts. Through the use of fictitious vignettes, Ethics and IDEA walks you through the varied issues and experiences that could be encountered by related service professionals in any school or early childhood setting, and provides a process for addressing ethically compromising situations. Following each vignette, selected citations from IDEA regulations and selected relevant ASHA practice and ethics documents are provided as a framework for resolution. Includes definitions of basic terms associated with ethics and IDEA as well as helpful resource information.

Ethics and IDEA is designed primarily for SLPs and audiologists, but it is also a valuable resource for other related service personnel working in public schools.
