Verification of ASHA Certification

The Certification Administration Unit is happy to provide letters verifying current certification to employers, state licensure or regulatory agencies, and individual certificate holders. Verification letters are printed on ASHA letterhead and provide the name of the certificate holder, his or her ASHA account number, the area of certification held, the date certification was issued, and the valid-through date. These letters also bear the original signature of the ASHA staff member responsible for issuing the letter. The National Office cannot provide copies of documents submitted for certification or information (i.e., dates or score achieved) on the Praxis examination used for certification.

Online Requests

There is no charge for using the online ASHA Certification Verification system. Accounts can be accessed using an ASHA ID and/or the first name, last name, city and state of each individual verification request. Official ASHA verification letters can be downloaded and printed immediately. Please access the ASHA Certification Verification system to verify your certification online.

General Requests

There is no charge for verification letters mailed within 3 to 5 days, or for letters faxed within 48 hours, of receipt of the request in the certification unit.

Rush Requests

A charge of $35.00—payable by Discover, VISA, or MasterCard—is assessed for letters that must be faxed immediately (within 24 hours of receipt of request). When requesting an immediate (rush) fax, keep in mind that most licensure boards will not accept faxed verification letters. Please contact your state licensure board to confirm that a faxed letter is acceptable. Requests for a rush fax received after 2:00 p.m. will be filled the morning of the next business day.
