Podcast Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an iPod to join the podcast?

No. While some of the first podcasts were audio shows designed to be downloaded to an iPod, podcasting has evolved to incorporate not only other portable audio players, but also to enjoy just using your computer.

Aren't podcasts only for music and audio?

Many people generally think of podcasts as music or audio only, but they can also be used to publish text, video, and other files too.

How do I join the podcast?

See our easy 3 step process.

What is a podcast?

A podcast is a method of publishing files over the internet, allowing individuals to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically through an aggregator program, like iTunes, Juice, or Doppler.

Think of a podcast like a subscription. Once you join the podcast, each time you run iTunes or your particular aggregator, it will automatically check all of your subscriptions to see if any new content is available, and download it to your computer.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for "really simple syndication" and is a web content syndication format. RSS is basically a text file that contains information on things that are available on a particular site. For podcasting, RSS files are used to syndicate information about our podcast episodes.
