Hello,

I am a SLP in Vancouver, BC and work in prevention at a community public health clinic. I treat and service children from birth to five years of age.

In celebrating "May is Hearing & Speech Month," I have put together a large display on language & speech development in children in our waiting area (which will be up for the whole month of May). Take home brochures (created by my colleagues and I) highlighting the first five years of a child's speech/ language development have been placed beside the display for parents to take home. I have also our administrative staff to place starburst stickers that read "May is Hearing & Speech Month" on all out-going mail for our different programs in public health; i.e. dental, nutrition, audiology/ speech, nursing, environmental health, community disease prevention, etc.
