New Mexico Governor Proclaims May is Better Hearing and Speech Month

Governor Bill Richardson proclaimed May as Better Hearing and Speech Month in New Mexico for the third consecutive year during the 2010 legislative session at the historic Capitol known as the Roundhouse. The Joint Resoluton was introduced by Representative Jeannette Wallace, who lauded the New Mexico Speech Language Hearing Association's efforts in support of a successful bill to provide funding for hearing aids for children in New Mexico. Sitting on the rostrums to receive the proclamation were NMSHA President, Bryan Tierney, in the Senate; and Cynthia Trujillo-Sanchez, Vice President for Governmental Affairs, and Beth Stewart, Vice President for Communications in the House of Representatives.
