2009 BHSM Make Your Own Video Contest Winners
1st place: "That's Just the Way We Hear" by Mel Paticoff, Julie Rosenthal and Dani Paticoff. Mel, Julie and Dani made this closed captioned video to show what today's kids with hearing loss look like. Mel is the secretary of the NSSLHA chapter at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri.
2nd place: "Better Speech and Hearing Month May 2009" by Susanna Dussling. Susanna shares her personal thoughts about what better speech and hearing means to her and encourages people to get help for their hearing loss.
3rd place: "Connected" by Mikayla LaRosa. Mikayla shares what hearing and speech mean to her through an analysis of the question, "What is a voice?"
Honorable mention: "The Ghost of Hearing's Past" by Andrea Davis, Cheryl Suppes and Torrie Souther from Georgia State University's Communication Disorders Program. Students from the Georgia State University Communication Disorders Program created this video as a way to spread the news about Better Hearing and Speech Month.
