1. Ginger welcomed everyone to the meeting and provided an opportunity for the members to introduce themselves.
2. Minutes from the July 2008 face-to-face meeting were reviewed.
3. The committee reviewed the Strategic Plan (2007–2010) and discussed progress made on several action items.
Action Items
The members of the committee will identify different Web sites and resources of interest to us and to those visiting our Web page. These will be vetted online through e-mail discussion and added to our "useful links" section.
The committee decided that we would work on a side-by-side table that gives information on the following professions: Speech-Language Pathologists, Teachers of the Deaf, and Educational Audiologists. We will also include information related to Sign-Language Interpreters and Oral Language Facilitators. In the table, we will define the following: education, training, certification, licensure, roles and responsibilities, and settings. We will begin work on this project by dividing into our specialties and working in pairs. Work will be forwarded to Anne, who will place it into a document that can be uploaded to a conferencing site where we can edit it together online. Work should be submitted prior to our next phone conference.
Our next phone conference will be on April 24, 2009, from 1 to 3 p.m. Eastern time. The phone number and code will be e-mailed to committee members prior to the meeting.
Ginger will send out an online survey to help determine the best dates for our summer face-to-face meeting.
