The Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) requires programs to submit accreditation applications and annual reports exclusively online through the Higher Education Data System (HES).
Questions about submitting CAA reports through the HES should be directed to accreditation@asha.org. Please also view answers to frequently asked questions.
New Reporting Requirements
Effective January 2011, every program being reviewed by CAA must demonstrate compliance with the new Standard 4.5 (verification of distance education student identity) and annually provide documentation to support compliance with Standard 6.1 (financial information). This information must be provided as separate addenda, as indicated below, to the program's online report (accreditation application or annual report) as it will not be collected in the online HES format. Addenda should be posted to caareports@asha.org by the program's submission date.
Note: The questions presented in the financial information addendum are the same as those requested in the Application for Accreditation in the HES, however this question set does not appear currently in the online CAA Annual Report under Standard 6.1.

Educational Opportunities
- A PowerPoint "how to" presentation [PPT, 2.6MB] including actual screen shots provides guidance to programs on the CAA Accreditation Application interface in the HES.
- To assist programs in preparing their online submissions to CAA using the HES, data collection worksheets are available (in Microsoft Word) from this webpage. Please note: Information drafted about faculty, courses, external clinical sites, etc. on these worksheets will not be automatically uploaded to the HES. Programs will need to enter or confirm the CAA report data in the HES during the submission period. Questions? Contact accreditation@asha.org.
- CAA presented 3 lunch time sessions on various aspects of preparing and submitting CAA reports at the 2011 ASHA Convention in San Diego.
