ASHA's Publications Board is conducting searches for two scholarly journal editors, who will serve three-year terms from Jan. 1, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2011: editor of American Journal of Audiology (AJA) and editor for speech of Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research (JSLHR).
The editorships are open to all ASHA members involved in scholarly research who have some editorial experience. An editor has two areas of responsibility: the content of the journal (or in the case of JSLHR, a section of the journal) in terms of relevance, quality, and style; and timely evaluation of submitted manuscripts.
Nomination materials must include:
- Curriculum vitae of the nominee
- A nominating letter (self-nominations are acceptable)
- No fewer than two and no more than four letters in support of the nomination
- A letter from the nominee indicating willingness to accept the editorship if offered
The nominating and supporting letters should specify evidence of the nominee's scholarship and editorial experience.
For a nomination to receive full consideration, all necessary documents must reach ASHA's National Office on or before March 31.
Materials should be mailed to:
Laurence Leonard, Publications Board Chair ASHA 2200 Research Boulevard #205 Rockville, MD 20850-3289
