Some points to keep in mind in providing services to students with Asperger's syndrome:
- Service delivery can include a variety of models. The key is the collaboration of team members to ensure that students have many opportunities throughout the school day to practice the skills they have been taught.
- Find ways to help students generalize and practice social skills outside of the therapeutic/
classroom setting.
- Involve parents as partners in the process of social skill development.
- Engage peers as social role models.
- Provide in-services for teachers, administrators, and parents to help them understand the core deficits of Asperger's syndrome and the goals of the program.
