In November 2006 I submitted a letter regarding the salary inequities between school psychologists and speech-language pathologists. I am delighted to be sending this follow-up letter to inform interested readers that the Alisal Union School District in Salinas, California, has recently agreed to place SLPs on the psychologists' pay schedule. We are no longer understaffed and have no shortage of applicants. One of our speech-language pathologists is now hosting meetings for interested SLPs to develop strategies for accomplishing the same in their own districts in our area. The tide is turning. Let's all catch the wave.
