As chair of the Multicultural Issues Board (MIB) of ASHA, I am writing on behalf of the MIB to commend the editorial and writing staff of The ASHA Leader for its commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity throughout the discipline. The MIB's mission to address "the cultural, linguistic, and professional needs of ASHA members, students, consumers, and the public" and its work are supported by the efforts of The Leader staff. The Leader consistently includes informative articles that address myriad clinical and professional issues, and The Leader's ongoing highlighting and coverage of topics related to the influence of cultural and linguistic diversity provides the membership with necessary information and best practices for treating all populations appropriately and effectively.
