The ASHA Leader Online LETTERS

Transcript Fees

As I was browsing your Web site to investigate the number of CEUs required to maintain certification, I was appalled to discover that a member must pay for a transcript of CEU hours.  The Web site indicated that the first transcript is "free," but that every transcript thereafter is approximately $15. We already pay $24 per year for the service of having ASHA keep track of our CEUs and now we are expected to pay for transcripts as well. The fees are already outrageous. It costs $224 per year to maintain certification and to add transcript costs on top of that. I would like ASHA to reconsider payment for transcripts especially for those of us who pay the $24 fee for tracking purposes. When will the increases end?

Editor's note: Each year members pay the CE registry fee and receive a credit for a free transcript. Credits never expire. Many members have several usable credits because they don't order a transcript every year. The CE registry is self-supporting; it receives no funding from membership/certification fees.
