I completely agree with Jodi Shyiak's letter regarding "Outrageous CE Registry Fees". I would love to be given the option to decline publications and journals in lieu of registering my CEUs with ASHA (I currently do not). I am a stay-at-home mom who works part-time as an SLP. I participate in time/pilot studies online to earn free CEUs and am constantly looking online for less expensive or free CEUs. I pay $100 per year to the Minnesota Department of Health for my license and $235 per year to ASHA for dues and Special Interest Division membership. I am aware of the importance of ASHA and state certification. I really feel that ASHA needs to compromise somewhere. The dues are too much for too little.
