Patients, Not Clients

Having just read the April 1 issue of The ASHA Leader, I am astounded that Scott and Lee ("Serving Clients Who Use Sign Language") still refer to our patients as "clients." Attorneys and real-estate brokers (no criticism of either) have "clients"...audiologists have patients! This is just one of the problems with our profession, self-image, and the image that other professionals have of us.
