What's in a Title?

Has anyone proposed shortening the CCC-SLP title to something under eight characters? Let's face it—with the MA/MS and a couple of commas thrown in there, our title is over 10 digits, spaces, and dashes long. Some clinicians have even shown the outright audacity to add an -L (Licensed) at the end of their list. Now this is pushing the bounds of upwards of half of the English alphabet as a title. For example: Jane Doe, MA, CCC-SLP-L (That's 12 characters!).

In this era of uncertainty and strife, I propose a new wave of streamlined titles for SLPs. Gone are the days of bulky C's. Let's look to a future of under five consonants after our already burdensome names.
