The ASHA Leader OnlineLETTERS

No More Red Dresses

I continually read about the need to recruit more men into the professions. I wonder how in the year 2005 that we will ever recruit more men when I read about "what everyone will be wearing at Convention." I find a red dress with a heart is personally offensive to one who has worked in the profession for almost 30 years. While I certainly appreciate the need to "Listen to your Heart," I think ASHA could have found a much more sexually unbiased logo. You've successfully set the profession back about 30 years. Come on ASHA, a red dress?
