We congratulate Longwood University (May 24, 2005) on helping to address the critical shortage of speech-language pathologists by offering a distance-learning program for students with bachelor's degrees in other disciplines. However, they are not alone in offering this service! La Salle University's Pre-SLP Program offers 11 prerequisite courses online as well. This program was funded by a private foundation and has been offering these courses since Spring 2005. La Salle University prides itself in maintaining an intimate online course environment with direct accessibility to faculty teaching the courses.
