Online Resources

HighWire

ASHA journals are on Stanford University's HighWire Press. ASHA members have full-text access to all of ASHA's journals, including an archive back to 1980, simply by logging onto the ASHA Web site and clicking through to ASHA journals.

HighWire provides access to ASHA's journals, as well as many features that will help in your research:

  • Table of Contents E-mail Alerts. Sign up for alerts to new content for any or all of ASHA's journals. You can also register for these alerts from many other journals hosted by HighWire. For a complete list of journals, go to HighWire's Web site.
  • CiteTrack Research Alerts. Track research on a particular topic or by a specific author. Set up the parameters you want to track (author, citation, key word, etc.) and receive an e-mail when articles are posted by any of the HighWire journals.
  • E-mail a Friend. If you find an article you want to share with a colleague, simply pass it along electronically.
  • Improved Searchability. Quick search, advanced search, date-delimited searching...you can even search across journals in MEDLINE right from highwire.stanford.edu. Also, Google full-text indexing is supported, so you're now more likely to get Google results that include ASHA's journals.
  • MyHighWire AccountPersonalize your HighWire access with a free MyHighWire account - bookmark your favorite journals, manage your e-mail alerts, and much more!

Instructions for authors, information for reviewers, and subscription information are available on the AJA, AJSLP, JSLHR, and LSHSS journal sites. (You can also find information on how universities can obtain a blanket photocopy license for ASHA's journals, which is a Publications Board initiative designed to generate royalties and to provide a painless means by which universities can secure permission to photocopy.)

The "Instructions for Authors" includes specific instructions for preparing a manuscript and submitting it through the online system called Manuscript Central. The "Information for Reviewers" includes specific instructions for completing an online review, as well as a call for new reviewers and instructions on how to become a reviewer.

The Publications Board will continue to consider other uses it might make of the site, such as posting supplemental materials relating to published articles and chat rooms.

Manuscript Central

All ASHA journals use an online manuscript submission and peer-review system called Manuscript Central, administered by ScholarOne.
