(ROCKVILLE, MD-October 7, 2005) The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) hosted a reception today at its Rockville, MD headquarters where National Institutes of Health (NIH) children's charities received $48,000 in proceeds from this past summer's annual NIH Film Festival.
For the past couple of years, ASHA has allowed a significant portion of its eighteen-acre site at 10801 Rockville Pike to be used as the setting for the event's outdoor theater. The Festival benefits The Children's Inn, Friends of the Clinical Center, Special Love-Camp Fantastic, and the Recreation & Welfare Association Foundation.
ASHA is the national professional and scientific organization for more than 120,000 audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists. For more information on ASHA, visit www.asha.org.
