Audiologist or Speech-Language Pathologist

Audiologist
State Licensure
- Good moral character
- Master's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution (75 semester hours)
- 375 hours supervised postgraduate full-time professional employment or its part-time equivalent
- Passage of an examination
Continuing Education Requirement
10 clock hours per year
Speech-Language Pathologist
State Licensure
- Good moral character
- Master's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution (75 semester hours)
- 375 hour supervised postgraduate full-time professional employment or its part-time equivalent
- Passage of an examination
Continuing Education Requirement
10 clock hours are required per year for licensed speech-language pathologists. Speech-language pathology assistants must also complete 10 clock hours per year.
Emergency Certification
None
Support Personnel
Speech-language pathology assistants must also be state licensed. Each assistant must have:
- B.A. in communication disorders
- Good moral character
- 225 hour supervised clinical practicum
- Completed on-the-job training
The Board will grant a provisional SLPA license to those applicants with at least 100 hours, the remaining 125 hours may be obtained on the job.
