On July 12, 2007, the State Education Advocacy Leaders (SEALs) from around the country will gather to meet at the Schools Conference in Pittsburgh. SEALs are nominated by state speech-language-hearing associations to advocate on education issues. This year's meeting includes an overview of education issues in the states by Mike Butler, District Director in the Aliquippa District Office of Congressman Jason Altmire.
ASHA staff will be sharing information on IDEA, ASHA's new governance model, the Strategic Pathway to Excellence, and the Focused Initiatives. Pennsylvania SEAL Ellen Estomin will also be presenting at this meeting.
