ISSUE E: Increased international exchange of professional knowledge, information, and education related to ethics, clinical practice, and supervision/clinical education in communication sciences and disorders will require a variety of dissemination, communication, educational, and professional practice delivery systems.
2nd Quarter Highlights
- A poster session submitted to promote the value-added benefits of joining a special interest division has been accepted for the 2006 ASHA Convention.
- ASHA distributed materials at the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) annual meeting and met with the executive staff of ATA to promote roles of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and audiologists and enlist their support for reimbursement.
- Met with staff of National Association for Home Care (NAHC) to discuss the potential of telepractice by SLPs in home care.
- Proposed telepractice legislation and regulation is monitored at the Federal and state level to assure that audiologists and SLPs are not prevented from delivering services in this manner.
- Attended by staff from GRPP due to focus on policy aspects of telehealth.

- The Schools and Health Care conferences were open to international participation and had registrants from Canada (4 provinces), the UK, Spain, and Taiwan.
