Issue F: The expectation that people of all nations worldwide will have access to quality, culturally competent speech-language pathology and audiology programs and services to achieve optimum communication abilities across their lifespan, requires encouraging mutual international collaboration efforts to set standards for registration/credentialing for experts in communication sciences and disorders worldwide while respecting each nation's models of education and professional practice.
2nd Quarter Highlights
- State licensure/ASHA certification reciprocity information, if available, is included in each State’s licensure law and can be accessed for each state on the ASHA Web site.
- Actions have been initiated to implement the ASHA credentialing communication plan to promote the ASHA credentials to appropriate target audiences. Certification values and benefits have been promoted in Audiology Connections.
- Staff continues to provide information on implementation of the quadrilateral mutual recognition agreement including the processes for meeting ASHA standards under the agreement and have disseminated information to promote the quadrilateral mutual recognition agreement among ASHA members.
- The updated salary supplement state and local charts are located on the ASHA Web site. Information on increasing salaries can be found on ASHA's Web site.
