Professional Bio

Dr. Green holds ASHA certification as a SLP, state licensure, and Maryland State Department of Education certification as a SLP and Administrator. She currently works with preschool and elementary level students in the Calvert County Public Schools. She also operates a private practice as a consultant and serves the Civista Medical Center in southern Maryland as a PRN SLP. Areas of interest and expertise include services to young children (birth to age 12), pediatric feeding/swallowing, cultural and linguistic diversity, developmental disabilities, effects of environmental neurotoxicity on speech and language development, supervision, and family and professional education/training. Dr. Green is an active member of ASHA, a published author, and has presented at numerous state and national professional conferences.

Professional Bio

Patricia Laibstain currently directs a large staff of speech-language pathologists in the non-public school programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland and in collaborative partnerships with the Baltimore City Public Schools. To meet the students' diverse needs, Patty has developed specialty skills in adolescent language and literacy, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, autism, and motor speech disorders. A member of the Maryland Association of Non-Public Special Education Facilities (MANSEF) SLP Consortium, Patty hopes to develop strategies to address challenges posed by No Child Left Behind legislation. Patty has presented at universities and looks forward to this opportunity to apply skills from her prior career in development to advocate for individuals with communication disorders across settings.
