Professional Bio

Laura Young-Campbell has been a public school speech-language pathologist for 24 years. Recently, she has been supervising graduate students in clinic and during their externships. Laura is a member of ASHA's SLP Advisory Council and the Alaska Speech-Hearing Association (AKSHA) Executive Board. She previously served as president and chaired several committees for both AkSHA and the Mat-Su Speech-Hearing Associations. Laura was Alaska's State Education Advocacy Leader for six years and has held several leadership positions in the local National Education Association (NEA). Laura was recently appointed as chair for NEA-Alaska's Special Education Committee. Laura enjoys being a peer-reviewer for the Division 16 School-Based Issues: Perspectives and volunteering with Alaska Health Fairs and the Special Olympics Healthy Hearing Program.
