Ad Hoc Committee on Speech-Language Pathology Assistants

Committee Charge

Develop a plan and/or provide direction in resolving the following potentially divisive issues: (a) registration of speech-language pathology assistants and approval of assistant level training programs, (b) membership in ASHA, (c) state requirements that differ from ASHA policy, (d) preparation for serving diverse populations, (e) supervision considerations, (f) funding and reimbursement issues, and (g) role of career-laddes/bachelor level personnel.
