Election Cycles for the Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council

2007-2011

The following nomination and election cycles for the Speech-Language PathologyAdviosry Council has been developed by the 2007 Committee on Nominations and Elections to ensure that by January 1, 2012, the Council will have a fully integrated nominations/elections cycle.

2007 Nomination Period / 2008 Election

All states will hold an election in 2008 and the term for which candidates will be running are as follows:

Note: NSSLHA representation on the Advisory Council is not an elected position but rather is determined by the NSSLHA Executive Board.

2008 Nomination Period / 2009 Election

Nominations for the following states will open in 2008 and the election will be conducted in 2009. The term for which candidates will be running is 3-years (January 1, 2010-December 31, 2012).

Note: Next nomination period for the above states will be in the year 2011 for election in 2012. The term for which candidates will be running is 3 years (January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2015).

2009 Nomination Period / 2010 Election

Nominations for the following states will open in 2009 and the election will be conducted in 2010. The term for which candidates will be running is 3 years (January 1, 2011-December 31, 2013).

Note: Next nomination period for the above states will be in the year 2012 for election in 2013. The term for which candidates will be running is 3 years (January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2016).

Full implementation of the staggered nomination and election cycles has now been achieved. Nominations and elections will continue to occur on a rotating basis in accordance with the Implementation Plan whereby no member may serve more than 2 consective terms (6 years).

2010 Nomination Period / 2011 Election

All members of the Advisory Council from the following states are eligible for nomination. If re-elected, this will constitute as the maximum number of consective terms permitted under the Implementation Plan. Nominations for these states will open in 2010 and the election will be conducted in 2011. The term for which candidates will be running is 3 years (January 1, 2012-December 31, 2014).
