Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is the single governing body of the Association. The Board actively promotes the objectives of the Association, operating in accordance with and administering and implementing the programs and policies established by the Board and those in the Bylaws.

The Role of the Advisory Councils

ASHA has two Advisory Councils, the Audiology Advisory Council and the Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council. The Advisory Councils identify and discuss critical and/or emergent issues of concern to members and the professions. The information provided by the Advisory Councils is used to help inform decisions made by the Board of Directors regarding the programs and services that should be provided for members and supported by Association resources.

Each Advisory Council is comprised of 53 members. There is one member from each state, the District of Columbia, international constituency, and the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA).
