Colleen M. O'Rourke, PhD, CCC-A, is an ASHA Fellow and the current Vice President for Academic Affairs in Audiology. She is a former Legislative Councilor, representing Georgia, and has served on numerous ASHA committees, councils and boards including the Council on Academic Accreditation in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, the Committee on Honors, the Committee on Nominations and Elections, and the steering committee of Special Interest Division 10, Issues in Higher Education. In addition Dr. O'Rourke is active in other professional organizations including the Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders and the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Dr. O'Rourke received her bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati and her master's degree and doctorate from Wayne State University. She is currently an Associate Professor and the Coordinator of the Communication Disorders Program at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. O'Rourke has both teaching and supervision responsibilities at the university. Her clinical and research interests are diagnostic audiology, aural rehabilitation, clinical supervision, and professional issues.
