Time to Check Your ASHA or NSSLHA Membership Status!

To make your Convention registration experience as easy as possible, now is a good time to check your membership status and make sure that your dues are current.

The Convention registration process requires you to register using the same membership category that is indicated in ASHA's database.

If your registration shows a member category that does not match the one in the ASHA database, your registration cannot be processed until this problem is resolved, and mailing of your Convention materials may be delayed.

If you have questions on your membership or dues, call the ASHA Action Center at 800-498-2071.

Joining ASHA

ASHA membership applications cannot be accepted at Convention. If you plan to join ASHA, call 800-498-2071. Your membership may not be processed in time for you to take advantage of the discounted registration fee; therefore, you should pay the fee that applies to you at the time you register. If your membership status changes and you receive your membership number and certification before November 20, 2008, a refund can be requested by mail from:

ASHA Convention Refund
Convention & Meetings #325
2200 Research Boulevard
Rockville, MD 20850-3289

Refunds cannot be made at Convention. You will receive either a credit card refund or check refund in the mail. The deadline for refund requests is November 20, 2008.

New Professional ASHA Member

If you have been a member and working from one to three years, you can register under this discounted rate.

NSSLHA

Current NSSLHA members must have a NSSLHA membership number to register for Convention at the NSSLHA rate. New members can join NSSLHA on the back of the student Convention registration form, during the online registration process, or when you register in Chicago. If you are enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program, or are a full-time doctoral student and do not hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence, you are eligible to join NSSLHA.

Graduate Student Members of ASHA

If you are an ASHA Graduate Student (doctoral candidate holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence), you may register at the discounted rate. You need to include your member number and use the student registration form. If you are unsure of your ASHA category, please call the ASHA Action Center at 800-498-2071.

Related Professionals

Related professionals are individuals who do not belong to ASHA, are not audiologists or speech-language pathologists, and want to attend the Convention for educational purposes to enhance their professional knowledge (e.g., a special education teacher).

Accompanying Person

An accompanying person is a guest attending in a social capacity only. Guest status does not include attendance at any professional or scientific sessions. ASHA members and Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists who are not ASHA members are not eligible for this registration category.

International Registrants

Anyone living outside the United States will not have badges and tickets mailed. You need to pick up your badge at the McCormick Place West.

Bring your e-mailed confirmation to the Will Call desk and scan the bar code for your badge, any purchased tickets, and Expocard.

Information on applying for a travel visa, etc. is on our Web site.
