Handouts
Beginning late summer, Convention handouts may be accessed online. Presenters have been encouraged to submit their handouts to ASHA so that attendees may access them online. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring only the handouts they will need. In an effort to be as eco-friendly as possible, ASHA will not be copying handouts for any sessions. As handouts are uploaded, ASHA will make them available to view and print online. Presenters are encouraged to bring a one-page note-taking outline for their sessions. Short course handouts will be uploaded onto a CD/DVD that will be distributed during each short course.
Program Cancellations/Changes
During Convention, the ASHA Web site will be updated regularly to provide information on all program cancellations/changes. Cancellation/change information will also be listed in the Convention Daily newspaper (available on-site in Chicago) each day.
Short Course Tickets
ASHA members can register for short courses using the Convention pre-registration form. If you belong to a Special Interest Division, you can register for Division short courses at half price (see the pre-registration form for a list of discounted courses). Most short courses sell out prior to the Convention—so register early. Seats remaining after pre-registration can be purchased in Chicago at the registration area on a first-come, first-served basis.
Short Courses Sponsored By Special Interest Divisions
ASHA Special Interest Division affiliates can register for select short courses at half price. Division members pay only $30.00 for the Division-sponsored short course. You may notice other short courses sponsored by Divisions; however, only short courses listed on the registration form are eligible for the half price rate. To join a Special Interest Division, call the Action Center at 800-498-2071. Then, register for Convention and indicate that you are a member of a Division. When your registration is processed, your name will appear as a Division member.
Persons with Disabilities
ASHA is committed to making the Convention accessible to everyone. ASHA will work with attendees to support their special needs. If you require special assistance, please check the appropriate box on the Convention pre-registration form and/or housing form. You will be contacted prior to the Convention regarding your needs. Assistive listening devices and interpreter services can be arranged if reserved prior to the Convention. For more information, call 301-296-5724 or e-mail convention@asha.org.
