Audiology 2008 is designed to be as flexible and convenient as possible. Simply choose any combination of recorded lectures, live chat sessions, and supplemental readings. You'll earn CEUs for those activities you complete.
The conference begins on October 10. Once you set up your profile and get to know your way around, you may listen to the pre-recorded topic lectures and keynotes at any time until the conference closes on October 27. The only scheduled events are live chats [PDF] with presenters—every other activity can be completed on your own schedule.
CEU Activities
You may earn CEUs for completing the following activities at Audiology 2008:
- Recorded keynote sessions
- Recorded topic lectures
- Scheduled live chats with presenters
- Supplemental CEU readings
You may earn up to 2.8 ASHA CEUs (28 professional development hours) for the entire conference, provided you complete every CEU-eligible activity.
Audiology 2008 is registered for ASHA CEUs as a Live Event. In order to earn ASHA CEUs for the static components (recorded lectures and supplementary readings), you are required to take part in the conference's interactive components. You can do this by posting three things you learned in the Conference Hall under "Topic Discussions." You must post separately for each bundled selection of readings you complete (but you don't need to post three things for each individual article).
You are also encouraged to ask questions of presenters, and to engage in discussions and chats with your colleagues. The Topic Discussions area, as well as the Open Chat (available Oct. 10–27, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern), are excellent places to do this.
Non-CEU Activities
The following activities are not eligible for CEUs:
- Informal "quick chats"
- Posting in the Open Discussion area
- Supplemental references & web links
- Reading transcripts of Live Chats
Where are CEU Activities Located?
- Keynote Sessions and Topic Lectures are located under the Conference Hall button
- Supplemental CEU Readings are located under the Additional Readings button
- Scheduled chat sessions with faculty are located under the Live Chats button
