The Student Ethics Essay Award (SEEA) program is conducted as part of ASHA's efforts to create awareness of the importance of ethical decision making as individuals prepare to start careers in audiology, speech-language pathology, or speech, language, and hearing sciences. Recipents of the 2006-2008 awards are listed below. Watch for the announcement of the 2009 SEEA competition early in 2009.
2008 SEEA Recipients
The following students received the 2008 Student Ethics Essay Award (SEEA):
Participants were asked to write on the meaning and importance of the following statement from Principle III of ASHA's Code of Ethics: "Individuals shall honor their responsibility to the public by promoting public understanding of the professions, by supporting the development of services designed to fulfill the unmet needs of the public, and by providing accurate information in all communications involving any aspect of the professions, including dissemination of research findings and scholarly activities." 2007 SEEA Recipients
The following students received the 2007 Student Ethics Essay Award (SEEA):
Participants were asked to write on the meaning and importance of the following statement from Principle II of ASHA's Code of Ethics: "Individuals shall honor their responsibility to achieve and maintain the highest level of professional competence."
