Director, Facility Management

EXEMPT

The purpose of this position is to focus on providing office-wide administrative support activities. The incumbent is responsible for directing office support services and operations (reprographics, meetings setup and catering, special projects, purchasing, inventory control and receiving, central supply, distribution center, postal operations, transportation, telecommunication systems), records management, and managing matters pertaining to building and property maintenance). The incumbent is responsible for managing leases, tenant relations and services. The incumbent also maintains liaison with local community and state groups addressing regulations affecting such areas as traffic mitigation, recycling, property and property development; develops effective administrative organization systems, procedures, standards, and controls for the efficient utilization of support services and equipment; and enhances communication between office support services and National Office staff utilizing those services.

Responsibilities

  1. Direct the management and maintenance of the building including HVAC, energy and security systems to maintain LEED designation.
  2. Direct office support services and operations (as named above) for the National Office in a professional, timely, efficient, and cost effective manner.
  3. Manage leases and services provided to tenants.
  4. Maintain buildings and grounds facilities and assure security procedures.
  5. Maintain central supplies in cost effective manner.
  6. Assure automation and smooth functioning of purchasing, inventory, and receiving functions.
  7. Direct and maintain currency of postal operations.
  8. Direct and maintain currency of the distribution center operation.
  9. Maintain records management program.
  10. Maintain liaison with local community and state groups addressing regulations affecting such areas as recycling, and property and property development. 

Qualifications

Knowledge typically acquired through:

  • Obtaining a bachelor's degree in business administration, management science, public administration, or a related field
  • At least six years of related experience managing a building or facility

Scope and depth of technical skills/knowledge:

  • Demonstrated management and supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Record of project-oriented achievements
  • Demonstrated skills in systems analysis
  • Experience with computers and computer based building systems preferred

Scope and depth of non-technical skills/knowledge:

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills

Salary:   $85,680 - $95,200
