Database Developer

EXEMPT

The purpose of this position is to provide report development and support for ASHA databases including designing and developing queries, stored procedures, triggers, DTS packages, and reports; performing quality assurance; providing technical documentation; and; providing end-user support including problem diagnosis, correction, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  1. Develops database queries, stored procedures, and triggers to meet end user output requirements
  2. Designs and develops reports to meet end user output requirements
  3. Provides end-user support for the Association Management System (AMS), including requests for advanced database queries and reports
  4. Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with existing queries and reports, including providing technical assistance to end-users
  5. Writes and maintains technical documentation for all applications in one of the approved formats
  6. Converts data and creates DTS packages between internal applications and ASHA data warehouses or data marts

Qualifications 

Knowledge typically acquired through:

  • Obtaining a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management
  • One to three years related experience

Scope and depth of technical skills/knowledge:

  • Experience required developing applications using any or all of the following programming languages and/or tools: Stored Procedures in MS-SQL 2000 and higher, Visual Studio .NET 2005, Crystal Reports v 9 and higher, SQL Server Reporting Services, Query Analyzer, Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience preferred in data warehouse/data mart development, and business intelligence reporting; Visual SourceSafe
  • Demonstrated skills in MS-Windows XP and higher, MS-Office (MS-Word, and MS-Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear and accurate technical documentation
  • Demonstrated experience developing applications using the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Experience developing business applications (sales, fulfillment, customer management etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and document user requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to translate user requirements into program specifications

Salary:   $63,630 - $70,700
