ASHA Awards
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association has presented numerous awards over the last 70 years to recognize the contributions of individuals and groups to the professions of speech-language pathology, audiology, and speech and hearing science.
The Honors of the Association and Fellowship in the Association are the highest honors awarded by ASHA. Recipients of these awards are honored each year at a ceremony at the Annual Convention.

The Honors of the Association recognizes distinguished contributions to the field of speech, language and hearing, and is the highest honor the Association can give.

Fellowship of the Association
The ASHA Fellowship recognizes professional or scientific achievement and is given to members who have made outstanding contributions to the professions. The award is one of the highest honors that ASHA can bestow and is retained for life.

Other Awards of the Association
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes significant contributions to the field of speech-language pathology and/or audiology by non-members.
The Dorothy Dreyer Award for Volunteerism acknowledges extraordinary efforts by members who volunteer their time and other resources to ASHA.
2009 Recipient
The Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Higher Education recognizes distinguished achievement and/or contributions (within the last five years) in one or more of the following areas: university and college classroom teaching; clinical teaching; student mentoring, or development of new and innovative educational techniques and technologies in the fields of audiology, speech-language pathology, or speech, language and hearing science.

The Early Career Contributions in Research Award recognizes scientific accomplishments by individuals in the early stages of their careers (defined as within five years of receiving the doctoral degree or other terminal degree).
The Certificate of Recognition for Special Contributions in Multicultural Affairs recognizes distinguished achievement and contributions by ASHA members in the area of multicultural professional education and research, and clinical service to multicultural populations.
2009 Recipient
The Outstanding Service Award recognizes ASHA members or National Office personnel who have offered outstanding and exemplary service primarily on behalf of the Association.
