Using Restaurant Menus

Treatment Tip

When working with people with aphasia, obtain a few menus from local restaurants to do functional language tasks. Most restaurants are willing to provide a menu, they get some free advertisment, and the patients will often offer more verbalizations as there may be a personal component to the treatment task. Be sure to send a thank you note to the restaurant owner or manager.
