1. By December 31, 2012, 2013, and 2014, the SIG Coordinator will maintain a five-member Coordinating Committee including four elected members and the Editor of Perspectives.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. By December 31, 2012, 2013, and 2014, the SIG Coordinator will plan and hold at least one face-to-face meeting of the Coordinating Committee at the National Office, at other conferences/meetings, and via other real-time interactive meetings (i.e., conference calls) to plan SIG activities, review the work plan, and facilitate collaboration with appropriate ASHA entities and staff.

  • making personal contacts with affiliates to ask them to participate in SIG activities,
  • providing opportunities for affiliates to serve on or lead the SIG Editorial Review Board, Continuing Education Committee, and SIG Project Teams, including
    • orientation of affiliates assuming SIG leadership positions,
    • developing a succession plan for SIG leadership,
    • identifying SIG activities to engage/involve new affiliates,  
    • using SIG affiliate survey data to identify areas that affiliates have an interest in participating in SIG sponsored activities and participation as a volunteer in conducting the business of the SIG.
           
7. By December 31, 2012, 2013, and 2014, the SIG Coordinating Committee will develop a current work plan that will be on file and include an annual update.            
8. By November 1, 2012, 2013 and 2014, the SIG Coordinating Committee will submit and encourage SIG affiliates to submit nominations for participation in the ASHA Leadership Development Program for audiology and speech-language pathology professionals.

8. By November 1, 2012, 2013, and 2014, the SIG Coordinator will revise the SIG Welcome/Update message for posting by a member of the Coordinating Committee on the online SIG Community monthly beginning in January.

           

9. By November 1, 2012, 2013, and 2014, the Editor, Perspectives will update, as necessary, the list of members of the SIG Editorial Review Board and submit the names to ASHA's SIG unit so they can be forwarded to ASHA's Professional Development and Continuing Education units.

           

10. By December 31, 2012, 2013, and 2014, the SIG Coordinating Committee will review the SIG Work Plan at least quarterly using the SIG Work Plan/Progress Report form.

           

11. By December 31, 2012, 2013, and 2014, the SIG Coordinator will submit the SIG Program Review Annual Report to the National Office and include up to three major accomplishments that can be highlighted in the BSIGC Coordinator's report.
